Fantastic Andy, as always keeping pace of the transformation in the work arena.

Here is my take - - >

In one way or another, I am betting on an ever more descentralized and independent journey for the ... Active Producer! Maybe it is time to put away the worn out term 'worker'. Since it is as an old paradigm strongly anchored in the frames of the past - it won't help us to get to the big picture and more important to dream in imagination where the future lies.

As such, be it a GIG 2.0 or an independent service provider, he may join the company's structured process, but not as a gear of the whole apparatus. This would be going back in time. Without getting into the command and control game, the future Productive Man (or Woman) would operate in a special sindicated or communal environment where mutual dependence and trust will be paramount.

Coase's firm will not be in the show.

Very interesting thoughts Volney! Yes the terms ‘work’ and ‘worker’ have been totally disfigured over the centuries! Let’s produce something better for the next few decades, achieving some of the original goals for work - like community, sense of purpose, financial security - And ditch some of the other attributes - e.g. command and control, inflexibility, lack of any rights for over half of people working…
